US PREMIERE and part of the First Annual Chicago Movies and Music Festival!
Filmed in Halifax, Nova Scotia and featuring live performances by Dog Day, North Of America, The Stolen Minks, The Superfantastics, Windom Earle, The Just Barelys and many more, this is the story of a community, a house and a very long weekend. Not just a music documentary, it's a snapshot of the city's vibrant independant music scene at its most intimate. Captured in a house that has long functioned as a hub for creativity in the city, it follows a cast of musicians and artists as they record a document of their own time. Bands fill every room in the house, from the bathroom to the attic. On-the-fly, direct and genuinely urgent, 6015 Willow follows twenty Halifax bands over three days, sweating buckets and blowing fuses.
This film was conceived by Paul Hammond and Jeffrey Parker in the spring of 2007. As their time in the Willow Street house came to an end, they wanted to do something big - a last hurrah in the house that had been home to many Halifax artists and musicians. The film was shot in August of 2007 over 3 days, with 20 local bands - many of whom have members that have lived in the house at some point.
