Fighting Breast Cancer, Promoting Equality October 11, 2009

The Empowering Spirits Foundation, MyOutSpirit.com, and the American Cancer Society have joined together to "Make Strides Against Breast Cancer" and to influence equality on October 11th. The service project is part of the nationwide LGBT Day of Service celebrating this year's "Come Out Spiritually" theme for Coming Out Day.

Making Strides Against Breast Cancer is a celebration of survivorship, an occasion to express hope, and a shared goal to end a disease that threatens the lives of so many people we love.

It is also our hope that in working side-by-side with our non-LGBT neighbors they may come to see similarities rather than differences in each of us, and that we can engage in dialogue through non-confrontational means to promote equality.
