Fiestas De Taos 7/23-7/25
Join the town of Toas for the month of July for the Feast days of Santiago & Santa Ana. Fiestas de Taos is a community celebration honoring two saints, Santiago and Santa Ana and themed “Returning to Sacred Places” for the 2010 celebration. The fiesta’s kick-off the events with the 25th annual Taos Pueblo Pow Wow July 9-11, the largest gathering in the world of Indian people. The Pow Wow begins with the Grand Entry of dancers, lead by the Indian people’s “flag”, which is symbolized by the feather. The celebration concludes with a dance competition between tribes, split into categories based age in men, woman and children. It is an amazing time to witness the traditions carried on by these amazing tribes through song and dance.
Also join us for the Annual Rodeo de Taos and experience festivities for the whole family. Have fun watching barrel racing, roping, bull riding and much, much more! This is an all day event!
