The Festival Playhouse presents “PS: Merry Christmas” opening November 26 and play’s Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. & Sundays at 2 p.m. through December 12. Tickets are $15 Fridays and Saturdays, $13 on Sundays for adults and are available by calling 303-422-4090. The Festival Playhouse is located at 5665 Olde Wadsworth Blvd in Arvada. Age appropriate – all.

Karen Brookshire loves writing Christmas letters. Not so for her family - they'd much rather dive behind the couch. With a boy-crazy daughter, a smarty-pants son and a klutzy husband she has her hands full. So Karen has to write their Christmas letter by herself recalling such events as their daughter's first date, which unfortunately occurred at the same time as two overly-adoring aunts were visiting, and their son's high school graduation where he not only won the embarrassing "Perfect Attendance Award" but also found out that he would still be living at home. But the more Karen writes, the more her imagination soars. She even pictures the rest of her family pulling a "Mission Impossible" to get rid of the letter.

Growing up in Frankston, Texas, Pat Cook enjoyed writing short stories and skits for high school. It wasn't until college, when he saw the movie version of Neil Simon's "The Odd Couple" that he decided to try his hand at writing plays. He said, “As of this writing, I have one hundred twenty five plays published by nine publishers. I firmly believe that everyone has a story to tell, a dream to pursue. And, believe me, if I can do it, anybody can.” (www.patcook.org).

Charles Ault, Sr. started The Player Guild in 1936 as a means to put food on the table in the middle of the depression. A love for the theatre and a creative mind brought a group of talented community actors and actresses together to provide the public with live entertainment. This concept was passed on to his son Charley Ault, Jr. who now runs The Players Guild, beginning its 75th year of production.
