The European Day of Languages, launched in 2001, promotes linguistic diversity as a tool of greater intercultural understanding. Being aware of the invaluable significance that Languages have in a globally interacting world, and welcoming UNESCOs declaration of 2008 as International Year of Languages, we gathered to celebrate a Festival of Languages. Kicked off with a massive Language Mela on 20th October, the celebration of languages continues with 8 Language Days, where single European Languages are presented.
A collaboration of Goethe-Zentrum with Alliance Franaise, European and Foreign Languages University and Universal Esperanto Association.
