Festival Mozaic (formerly San Luis Obispo Mozart Festival) is a unique musical festival that takes place each summer at the most beautiful venues across the San Luis Obispo County on California’s scenic central coast.
For nearly 40 years, this premier musical festival in California’s central coast has been a favorite for music fans who live in and visit the area. As the festival has grown, so has the musical experience, from an initial focus on the compositions of Mozart to a wide array of the finest classical music from all eras and even integrating other art-music, such as jazz, bluegrass, Latin and rock and roll.
Festival Mozaic is a not-for-profit organization supported by the San Luis Obispo Community Foundation, City of San Luis Obispo, area corporations and businesses as well as many generous music and art lovers across San Luis Obispo County and beyond. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit Festival Mozaic at www.FestivalMozaic.com and friend us at www.myspace.com/festivalmozaic.
In addition to the traditional classical offerings, Festival Mozaic offers the Fringe Festival series, a unique program reflecting the evolving direction of classical music by presenting musicians and ensembles that have crossed over the traditional boundaries of classical music into jazz, bluegrass, rock and roll and world music. Artists on the Fringe Festival series include the string quartet Ethel, String Theory, Quartetto Gelato and Vagabond Opera, among others.
