Writer/Director John Hughes has created a visual homage to the city of Chicago
as the wise beyond his years Ferris charms his way out of school for the day and takes along
his girl and his best pal. The famous parade sequence, which features Broderick's
lip synching to "Danke Shan", is a recreation of the Von Steuben Day Parade.
