Fernanda Cunha is a brilliant young singer from Rio de Janeiro. Cunha sings classic samba and bossa nova with a substantial and versatile voice that’s reminiscent of the late, great Elis Regina and Joyce. On her CD Dois Coracoes, she’s in distinguished company, performing with esteemed Brazilian composers Johnny Alf and Sueli Costa, her aunt. She is also the daughter of singer Telma Costa, who sang the song Eu Te Amo with Chico Buarque.
This year’s festival performances pair her with her longtime pianist Ricardo Rito in a concert that features the music of the great Antonio Carlos Jobim.
