Seminole Casino Coconut Creek is offering the chance to “feel the noize” and see the rock and roll phenomenon Quiet Riot at Nectar Lounge FREE on Saturday, October 20 at 9 p.m. The Los Angeles quartet became an overnight sensation thanks to their monster 1983 smash album Metal Health.

The American heavy metal band, best known for their hit singles "Metal Health" and "Cum On Feel the Noize," was founded in 1973 by guitarist Randy Rhoads and bassist Kelly Garni. The original line-up featured Rhoads and Garni with lead vocalist Kevin DuBrow and drummer Drew Forsyth. Their current lineup consists of lead vocalist Scott Vokoun, drummer Frankie Banali, bassist Chuck Wright and guitarist Alex Grossi. Quiet Riot began by regularly opening for Van Halen in several local clubs, before either act had a record deal, and the co-influence can be heard between Randy Rhoads and Eddie Van Halen.

Metal Health's title track had been released as the album's first single and reached No. 31 on the charts. The song’s success could be attributed to its appearance in the 1984 movie Footloose, as well as its popularity as a heavily-rotated video on MTV. The album stormed up the U.S. charts, duly reaching the number one spot and going platinum five times over in the process at that time.

In 1983, Quiet Riot's second single "Cum On Feel the Noize" was released. A cover of the 1973 hit by Slade, the single spent two weeks at No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and was the first heavy metal song to make the top five on that chart. The success of the single helped carry the album Metal Health to the top of the Billboard album chart, making it the first American heavy metal debut album to ever reach No. 1 in the U.S. To date, the sales of Metal Health have exceeded the 10 million mark worldwide.

Quiet Riot returned to the studio to record 1984's Condition Critical, which went on to sell over 2 million copies in the U.S. and included another chart-ready Slade cover in "Mama Weer All Crazee Now" and the self-penned "Party All Night." The group has since gone on to release several successful albums and tour worldwide, and has been ranked on VH1's "100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock."
