'Feeding Desire: Design and Tools of the Table, 1500-2005', traces the development of flatware and the dining traditions in the West across five centuries, from the Renaissance to today. As the exhibition will reveal, flatware's differing styles, form, and uses signify culture associations, class and gender differences, as well as how different eras and countries regard the rituals of eating and the changing role food plays in our lives. The exhibition examines cutlery from various vantage points: its history, methods, and materials of production.
