Faye Carol is one of the Bay Area's most creative female vocal stylists. With a husky alto voice honed to a remarkable level of intensity, Faye weaves a sumptuous vocal tapestry of gritty blues tunes, jazz standards, and original numbers, using her keen ear for musical invention and an undeniable dramatic flair. Faye's illustrious career has included a tour with Marvin Gaye, and on-stage collaborations with Ray Charles, Albert King, Charles Brown, Bobby Hutcherson, Ben Vereen, Billy Higgins and Pharaoh Sanders. For her Yoshi's appearance this year, she pays tribute to, and celebrates the music of Billie Holiday.
