Friday, October 27, 2006 at the Carnegie Library, marks the 2nd Annual Fashion Fights Poverty couture benefit; an evening headlining socially conscious designers and artisans from the world of fashion. As part of the United Nations’ week-long 61st Anniversary celebration, FFP will feature on-site shopping suites, silent auction and catwalk presentation from international and national established and emerging designers. This year’s Fashion Fights Povertybeneficiary is BeadforLife,a Uganda-US-based organization that strengthens communities through the sales of handmade beaded jewelry. BeadforLife is committed to social responsibility and sustainable international development.
Join us as we celebrate and acknowledge the efforts of fashion forward designers and artisans who look beyond the runway and into the communities of people who make the fashions we in the public can’t live without.
The time is now for fashion to make a statement!
