The Baboon Torture Division have been making puppets and doing puppet shows since 2004 in los angeles. Here is their puppet show archive.
Now relocated to sunny Vancouver, the BTD want to show you how to make puppets. The basic puppet is built around a sock and then constructed using felt or other materials such as cardboard. Let your imagination be your guide!
When you leave this workshop, we hope you will be an expert at making sock puppets and also carry with you a creepy little puppet to shock and amaze friends and strangers alike. materials such as socks, felt, googly eyes, cardboard, pipecleaners, hot glue, glue guns, sparkly stuff, fabric will be provided. chris hixon and pockets the clown of the baboon torture division will lend you their expertise from years of professional experience as artists and performers. A puppet booth will be set up for spontaneous performances and a short puppet show will be shown for inspiration. Hope to see you there!

Please bring accessories to customize your own puppet. Other materials are included. The cost of workshop is $25.00 plus taxes for whole afternoon which includes materials as well as a live puppet show by the BTD. We provide other materials such as fur, felt, glue guns and googly eyes, you provide your wild imagination!
There will be a snack bar, good music, and fun to be had!
