The Iowa Genealogical Society will host a special one-day spring conference showcasing 21st Century computer technology and its benefits for the family historian. This all-day conference kicks off at 8:30 a.m. and concludes at 5 p.m.

Featured speaker is Geoff Rasmussen a well-known authority on genealogical technology, and the author of numerous books, articles and training videos. Topics for discussion include:
• The latest in genealogical software programs, tips & techniques
• Voice recognition technology, presented by Rob Heater of WahlTek
• Computer generated maps, timelines & chronologies
• Photo restoration, preservation and archiving, presented by Steve Alexander of Alexander’s Photography
• Creating multimedia family keepsakes, presented by Carole Magnuson of the Jefferson Project
• Planning perfect family reunions, presented by Martha Abbas.

Two tracks are offered, with seminars held at both the IGS Library, 628 East Grand Avenue, and the State Historical Building, 600 East Locust in Des Moines.
