Family Day Out (National Family Celebrations '09) May 29, 2009

Inaugurated in 2008, this year's Family Day Out, part of the National Family Celebrations, falls on the first Saturday of the June school holidays. Scheduled for 30 May 2009, Singaporeans are encouraged to take time off and enjoy a day out with their family - be it watching a movie, cycling, bowling, having a picnic, or even having a meal together.

The Family Day Out Carnival will include free fun-filled activities that will take place all day long, offering opportunities for everyone of all ages to bond with their families. Families can even pit their gaming skills against one another by taking part in a Rock Band Family Battle.

To encourage more families to take part in Family Day Out, complimentary tickets will also be given to families to enjoy a free family outing. Businesses all across the country will also be offering family related discounts and promotions.
