The Family 4th Celebration is more fun than ever this year, with an emphasis on good, old-fashioned family fun. Check out the vintage cars in the morning at the area’s largest summer antique and collector car club show, hosted by the New South Cruisers. Awards will be given in over 25 categories, and also special awards for best in show.

Live entertainment will delight families as two stages provide continual chances to enjoy both local and regional acts. For the kids, there will again be a huge free Kids Zone filled with inflatables and water slides, provided courtesy of American Classifieds.

New this year will be a late afternoon watermelon-eating contest hosted by Bell Farms, and other old-fashioned games for old and young alike. And for those not wanting to join the competitive eating, there will be food for sale from a variety of vendors.

For a break from the heat, don’t forget about the indoor arts and crafts fair, located inside the air-conditioned exhibit building. Vendors from around the area will have hand-made and resale merchandise available for sale until dark.

Finally, the fireworks will light up the night sky at dark, and will make a nice finale to a fun-filled day. The “Red, White & Boom” fireworks extravaganza will be Dothan’s largest patriotic display, and shouldn’t be missed.

Advanced tickets are available for half price ($5) through July 3rd at many local businesses, or you can pay $10 per person at the gate on the 4th. Children 12 and under are admitted free of charge. More information is available at www.Family4thCelebrration.com
