Faith Ako is a winner of two Hawai’i Music Awards in 2008. She brings the islands of Hawai’i to the mainland and abroad with the release of her second album “Papaku, Bring it Home” Traditional and Contemporary Hawai’ian Music. About the new CD Faith writes: “Some songs are of traditional Hawaiian sounds. Others represent Polynesia and our ethnic diversity that bridges us together as islanders.”

Santa Cruz ’s own Hawaiian style band The Island Breeze Band plays contemporary & traditional Hawaiian music and danceable rock’n tropical surf tunes , featuring Hawaiian steel guitar, ukulele, slack key and surf guitars. Hula , with award winning dancers, is performed throughout their performances. “ Island Breeze” members include : Sista Patti Maxine, Alan Souza, local native Stan Meidinger , and Uncle Dave Ray .
