Do you ever wonder if there is something you can do to help break the cycle of poverty in the developing world? One way you can have an impact is through purchasing "fair trade" items from companies such as Trade as One, which sells beautiful handmade items crafted by women and men in developing countries. Open Door Church Mountain View will host our third annual "Fair Trade Holiday Gift Fair" in partnership with Trade as One.
Fair trade seeks to transform lives and communities in the developing world by enabling individuals to use their skills and resources to work their way out of poverty. This holiday season, let your gifts be part of the story of transformation! Our Holiday Gift Fair will showcase gifts, jewelry, bags, housewares, gifts for kids, coffee, chocolate and other fair trade foodstuffs.
From Trade as One's website: “Fair trade allows you to give unique, high-quality gifts to family and friends — while giving hope and income to the poor.”
