Faces reconsiders what defines a portrait for artists working today, while raising issues of personal identity through autobiographical narratives and innovative portrait techniques. With 11 portraits by leading contemporary artist Chuck Close, the exhibit also includes works by some of the world’s best known and most respected twentieth-century artists such as Cindy Sherman, Shirin Neshat, Jim Dine, Gerhard Richter and Andy Warhol. This exhibition features artworks selected from the San Francisco collection of Doris and Donald Fisher. Sponsored by International Game Technology with additional support from Portrait Society of Reno.
