Fabric & Fibers for Printmakers April 14, 2012

In this Second Saturday Workshop, Two Three Renter & Board Member Megan Nolde will share some techniques related to her multimedia, non-traditional approach to printmaking, in which she blurs the lines between printmaking, fibers, and sculpture.
Designed for artists who are interested in the possibilities of adding fibers techniques to their studio practice, this workshop will cover a range of techniques and information related to fabric printing (screenprinting, intaglio, relief), sewing, and embroidery. Participants will learn tips for choosing and preparing fabrics for printmaking, printing on fabric, and embellishing prints and other two-dimensional artworks using thread.
Basic printing techniques will NOT be covered. Participants should (1) either have some experience in screen printing, intaglio, or relief or (2) be interested in adding sewing & embroidery to other 2-D art forms (i.e. drawing & photography)
