The "Freedom to Connect" BarCamp takes its name from conferences organized by David Isenberg in Washington, DC to discuss the state of Internet access. One of the key related issues is that of net neutrality, the idea that data should be transported over the network with minimal discrimination.
This BarCamp is expected to focus on Internet access, the concept of net neutrality, the state of US and global networks, and the impact on innovation, and on markets and competitiveness.
F2CCamp will be *September 26*, during the Texas Wireless Summit. EFF-Austin is organizing, and the Digital Convergence Initiative of the Texas Technology Corridor is co-sponsoring.
