Eyewitness Accounts from the West Bank and Gaza April 24, 2009

Linda Frank will return with photos and stories from a humanitarian delegation into the war-torn and besieged Gaza Strip for International Women’s Day. Gaza’s borders had remained sealed after Israel’s 22-day assault, but sympathy from Egyptian First Lady Suzanne Mubarak for a mostly-women’s delegation – plus an "abundance" of other delegations arriving to the Egyptian border around the same time – enabled Linda and the 58 others in the delegation that included Pulitzer-prize-winning author Alice Walker [The Color Purple et al] to interface with Gazan women and to see and hear for themselves what the assault was like for the Gazan civilians who suffered through it. Treye McKinney and janelle have recently returned from spending a year working in the West Bank.
