Spend a day photographing the cranberry bogs, rivers, ponds, wetlands, Atlantic cedar swamps, pine forests, plants and wildlife of the New Jersey Pine Barrens. We will discuss cameras, settings, equipment, lenses, techniques, as well as tips for attracting wildlife to your lens and how to scout out prime photographic locations. Students will also learn about the unique ecology and history of the area. On the second Saturday, the group will reconvene at our studio for processing and group critique. A portion of the workshop fee will be donated to the New Jersey Conservation Foundation.
About the Location:
In 2003 the New Jersey Conservation Foundation purchased the 9,400-acre Franklin Parker Preserve, the largest private land conservation acquisition in state history. Today, NJCF owns and manages the 14-square-mile property in partnership with the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection. The site contains habitat for more than 50 rare plants and animals including native orchids and the bald eagle.
