Exploratorium hosts activities and exhibits in the Community Clubhouse at AT&T Park behind home plate, before and during the 6:05 p.m. game on Saturday, May 29.

Ever wonder why a curveball curves, or what they put in the middle of a baseball? Find out at our new Science of Baseball self-guided tour, available at the Exploratorium May 14 - September 6. To kick off the fun, the Exploratorium hosts San Francisco Giants player Mark DeRosa on Friday, May 14, at 11 a.m. for a morning of demonstrations and explorations -- investigate the insides of that iconic leather-covered ball, test your reaction time with a bat, gauge your aim through a pair of prism goggles, and more. Science of Baseball is included in the price of admission to the Exploratorium.

Pick up a handout when you visit the Exploratorium from May 14-September 6, 2010, and check out some favorite baseball-related exhibits. You’ll discover why players learn to run on the balls of their feet, what it feels like to soak in the adoration of a crowd, and why the singer needs to wear earplugs to get through the national anthem. (Sound does tricky things in ballparks.)

In addition, on Saturday, May 29, the science of the game comes to AT&T Park, where the Exploratorium will host activities and exhibits in the Community Clubhouse behind home plate, before and during the 6:05 p.m. Giants game.
