Exhibition — Rashaad Newsome March 31, 2012

This exhibition features Rashaad Newsome’s intensely detailed collages, each surrounded by an exquisitely carved frame. Also on view will be a large carved gate installation. Newsome, one of the most intriguing young artists on the New York contemporary scene, is also a video and performance artist whose work was included in the 2010 Whitney Biennial. His collages blend hip-hop and heraldry, achieving entirely new and individual art forms.
