Art majors from the Carleton College Class of 2005 will open this year?s Senior Art Show, titled ?Better Living Through Art,? on Friday, May 13. Receptions will be held at the three locations where the works will be on display beginning at Carleton?s Boliou Hall at 7 p.m., followed by receptions in Hulings Hall at 7:30 p.m. and the Carleton College Art Gallery at 8 p.m. The entire exhibit will be on display until June 11. The events are free and open to the public.
The Senior Art Show, an annual event to recognize the artistic talent of Carleton?s graduating students, will contain works from the 25 senior art majors. The works represent the culmination of the students? senior comprehensive exercises, the studio art equivalent of a senior thesis project. The media represented run the gamut from painting and drawing to ceramics and mixed-media structures.
The Carleton College Art Gallery is open daily at noon and closes at 6 p.m. Monday-Wednesday, 10 p.m. Thursday-Friday, and 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. The Art Gallery has limited disability accessibility. For more information or disability accommodations, call the Art Gallery at (507) 646-4342.
