Traveling in a rocket across space and time is a dream for both young and young at heart. Now you can experience the thrill through the new exhibit, Space Adventures, on display at Las Cruces Museum of Natural History, from January 27 May 13, 2007. Few topics capture people's imagination like space exploration and its companion space adventures from science fiction, books, television and the cinema. The 1,000 square foot exhibit includes 440 items in 16 display cases and 16 hands-on exhibit units.
The exhibit themes include Build A Moon Base, Build A Space Station, Build A Space Ship, Robotix Construction Table, Galaxy Quest Exhibit Hunts, Design A Robot, Space Events True and False, Match the Science Fiction to the Science Fact, Space Adventure Quiz, Disney In Space, 1950's Decade, Robots and Androids, Heroes, Heroines and Villains, Star Wars, 1960's Decade, Aliens and E.T., Going To The Moon, Star Trek, Going To Deep Space, and Space Station.
Each theme will be presented through a combination of comic books, collector cards, action figures and other toys, posters, books and magazine covers and board games.
