Tight. As in compressed drums that sit perfectly in the mix, sharply cut vocals and synths snippets that tickle the ears, and basslines that push and prod dance club anthems forward. This is the world of Ewan Pearson, consummate remixer, producer, and all-around nice bloke. For those amateurs unfamiliar with Mr. Ewan Pearson, he's the guy who's released a heap of stellar mixes for labels from Soma to Fabric, remixed everyone from Goldfrapp and Ladytron to Franz Ferdinand, Depeche Mode and The Chemical Brothers, in addition to boasting outstanding production credits for acts like The Rapture and Everything But the Girl's Tracy Thorn. Put more succinctly, homeboy pretty much owns every facet of the electro-house gamut. For the reader, he's even authored an important book on our scene: 'Discographies: dance music, culture and the politics of sound' (Routledge, 1999) with Jeremy Gilbert. In support of his newest !K7 remix collection Piece Work, Pearson's North American Tour stops in SF at supperclub for an exclusive, not to be missed show. Come join the remix master in action.
