The urban forest still has a lot to offer after the leaves have fallen. This walk will take advantage of the season to focus on identifying deciduous trees by their winter characteristics as well as understanding the finer points of identifying various evergreen species. We will also learn about the role trees play as winter bird habitat. Please note that this is not a bird walk and binoculars and other birding gear will not be used.
The walk will cover a moderate distance on slopes and over uneven terrain. Continuing Education Units (CEUs) will be offered for ISA certified arborists.
