The first Spaniard selected as “Writer in Residence” of the prestigious International Writing Program (IWP) of the University of Iowa, Eugenia Rico will read from her widely praised novel Aunque seamos malditas (Although We Are Damned). Chicago actor Mark Brotman will provide additional dramatic readings. On hand to open the evening will be Christopher Merrill, Director of the International Writing Program (IWP) of the University of Iowa, and ZZ Packer, the acclaimed Chicago-born author.
