"Create and be recognized" commanded a sign Eugene Von Bruenchenhein (1910-1983) hung in his basement studio, and the artist attempted just that. His Milwaukee home was transformed over four decades by an outpouring of artistic expression -- photography, painting, ceramics, sculpture and poetry. Most of the approximately 60 works on view in this exhibition are selected from the museum's collection.
