ETHEL Kicks Off TRUCK STOP Tour with Collaborative Concert Featuring Syrian Artist Kinan Azmeh January 14, 2008

ETHEL, the nation's premier rock-infused, postclassical string band, launches both its 10th season and ambitious worldwide TRUCK STOP tour with a special multi-cultural, multi-genre concert. Sharing the stage with renowned cellist Maya Beiser, ETHEL will jam with acclaimed Syrian clarinetist/composer Kinan Azmeh playing and improvising original works. This marks the first stop on ETHELs 10-month long TRUCK STOP performance/residency tour; a community-driven project in which theyll visit 11 cities across the globe, accumulating over 40,000 traveled miles.
