“Essential2life” 5K Run/ Walk to Benefit American Red Cross
The American Red Cross of Montclair-Glen Ridge-Nutley will participate in the “Essential2life” 5K run/ walk on Saturday April 11th at Liberty State Park in Jersey City NJ. This race, sponsored by the American Chemistry Council of New Jersey, will be held rain or shine along the backdrop of the Liberty Walk, boasting views of the Statue of Liberty and the New York City skyline.
Registration for the “Essential2life” 5K Run/Walk starts at 7:45 am. The run will begin at 9:30 am and Kid’s Sprints will take place at 10:15 am. The awards ceremony will be held at 10:30 am. From 8:30 am until noon, the “Essential2life” fair will be held, featuring a DJ, a band, giveaways, prizes, refreshments and goodie bags.
Proceeds from this event will benefit your local Red Cross chapter. By participating in this race, you will help sustain services offered at the Montclair-Glen Ridge-Nutley chapter including transportation, health and safety classes, shopping for shut-ins, disaster assistance, blood drives and service to military families.
All registered participants will receive an “Essential2life” t-shirt. Entry fees are $18 by April 6 and $20 thereafter. Any interested runners or walkers are encouraged to call the chapter at (973) 746-1800 and speak with Public Relations Director Melanie Hazim for sign up information. To raise additional funds for the Red Cross, friends and family are encouraged to sponsor runners. Donations can be collected and brought to Liberty State Park on race day.
