About Sándor Román and ExperiDance
ExperiDanceProduction was founded in October 2000 and its aim was to make knownworld-wide the unique dance productions created by Sándor Román. Themembers of the dance company are professional dancers, graduates fromthe Hungarian Dance Academy, numbering 31 all together plus the backstage crew that is indispensable to their artistic work.

Sándor Román was born in 1965 in Ricse in Hungaryand was barely ten years old, when the folk dance ensemble he wasmember of -lead by István Nagy - became the best among the otheramateur dance companies in Hungary.

Sándor Román graduated from the National Ballet Academy in Budapestin 1983, as the student of Sándor Tímár. Together with his teacher, hetakes part in research and study of the folkdance traditions indifferent regions of Hungary and Transylvania.
Soonhe becomes a soloist of the Honved Ensemble, where he starts to createhis own style of choreography like Grandfathers dance or The gardenersdream.
Asa member of the Budapest Dance Company and the National FolkdanceEnsemble, he influences the Hungarian folklore treasure into a newdirection.

After a year long study trip in the USA,he introduces contemporary dance techniques to Hungarian folk dance. In2000 he creates his own dance company called Experidance. As achoreographer he keeps on working for the National Theatre and severalother theatres in Hungary,creating performances in different styles. While he assists in manyfilms, he works side by side with directors like Miklós Jancsó, GézaBereményi or Zsolt Meskó. All the experience and professionalism thathe has gained in the world of theatre and film, he concentrates in theensemble Experidance and creates a new dance style.

In 2001 his interests include classical ballet, and obtain a diploma in the National Dance Academy as a classical ballet master. While he teaches in the Dance Academy and working with the Ballet Ensembles in Gy?rand Pécs, by request, he contributes to the choreography of theSlovenian National Opera in Llubljana and in the Municipal Theatre ofBolzano. Román Sándor continues to achieve his dream of combining theart of ballet with the Hungarian style elements that create a new wavein the classical dance while keeping its traditions.

One Thousand and One Years - A performance that treats the Hungarian history from the conquest of our land to present day.

Musketeers--- The show is the company's second all-evening long performance,based ont he world-famous novel of Dumas "The three guards" in two actsof fifty minutes. Through the... More? stormy dance, we can have aglance behind the scenes of a monumental age.

Revenge --- It's a modern adaptation of the Hungarian folk tale "Ludas Matyi".

Matyi--- It’s the first hero in Hungarian literature in whom the have-notsare victorious over the haves. This production combines many elementslike scenes from the famous carnival of Venice, dances of the Moulin Rouge, or the Argentinean sheepherder's unique style.

Steel--- Steel takes its audience on a historical voyage through the legendof metal and its role in mankind’s development. Produced in cooperationwith the Bolzano City Theatre, this show is also a coming together ofEuropean cultures.
