Esperanza Spalding September 12, 2006

Esperanza is a 22-year-old bassist, vocalist, Berklee instructor, and jazz phenom. Her new album Juno, recorded for Spanish record label Ayva, features breezy Brazilian and Latin jazz. Esperanza's often wordless vocals are reminiscent of Flora Purim's '70s work with Airto and Chick Corea.
