Storytelling, role-playing and hands-on activities are used to present accounts of courage, perseverance and cooperation. This exhibit teaches the brave and clever actions of men and women who resisted slavery from 1830-1865. Especially noteworthy in this family-friendly exhibit are the colorful banners of abolitionists and conductors by renowned artist Jerry Pinkney.
