EROS is a powerful and evocative ancient word that inspires an amalgam of emotions, senses and passions in the human psyche, physiology and spirit. fiery images excitedly explode through one's consciousness at the mere mention of this four letter word, yet, can be hardly easily definable. in a most pure sense, EROS means LOVE. but what is love?
does it reverberate through all the senses, and not just the heart? how, in a materialistic, capitalist and narcisisstic society, can we harmonize, integrate and balance love, sensuality, sexuality, and eroticism?
on november 5th, 2010, an eclectic group of artists, poets, performers and others will gather together to celebrate arthouse gallery's foray into the east bay's very popular FIRST FRIDAYS art walk and shin-dig! with the warm spice of eroticism, a broad array of artists attempt to translate their very own personal ideal of the erotic. The EROS SHOW will feature erotic art, photography, paintings, assemblages, poetry, dancing and performances by local well known homegrown artists.
