Ernesto Burgos' first solo exhibition in New York at first reframes and disrupts the spatial configuration of the gallery. His new sculptures reflect social unease through flipped and deconstructed forms, colors and materials. Burgos simultaneously reinforces and undoes the feelings of security habitually associated with regular geometry and familiar interior objects. Similar to surrealism, recognizable objects are distorted and exist in impossible positions, lending a sense of narrative to each work.
