Erik is a first generation American with a Central American Caribbean mother, and a father of European descent. With his multicultural background, he blends into the American landscape particularly in this era of cultural diversity. In much of his comedy, he pokes fun at himself, his mother, his stepfather, breaking up with a girlfriend, his Roman nose, and Americans asking, "What are you?"
