Every year students at U-M select a professor for the Golden Apple Award, which honors excellence in teaching. The winner gets to deliver his or her "ideal last lecture" -- these events are riveting, since it's only rarely you get to hear somebody speak to what they really care about.
This year's winner is Eric Rabkin, a professor in the English department; he's best known locally for his excellent undergraduate courses and/or the Genre Evolution Project.
