Lyric Opera star bass-baritone Eric Owens will make his Chicago recital debut with dynamic young pianist Julia Siciliano for one appearance only. WFMT Live from Mayne Stage will host the singer Bloomberg critic Manuela Hoelterhoff called “now one of the greatest bass-baritones in the world.”
Appearing at Lyric in the title role of Handel’s Hercules, Owens heads north to offer a complete performance of Robert Schumann’s beautiful song cycle Dichterliebe along with Hugo Wolf’s deeply moving Michelangelo Lieder. Award-winning pianist Julia Siciliano will essay the virtuosic Liszt transcription of Schubert’s “Auf dem Wasser zu Singen.”
