Straddling the sacred and the secular, author and speaker Eric Metaxas will serve up a round of humor and conversation about media and Christianity.
About Eric Metaxas
Metaxas is the author of Everything You Wanted to Know about God (But Were Afraid to Ask), which has been acclaimed by Ann B. Davis (Alice on "The Brady Bunch"), Dick Cavett ("Metaxas deserves a prize"), and George Gallup. The musician Moby has called Eric "one of the funniest people I know." Non-celebrities have not been as generous.
His eclectic publishing career "spans every genre but obituaries and menus." Metaxas' writing was first published in the Atlantic Monthly, and has frequently appeared in The New York Times, The Washington Post and has written for VeggieTales. Amazing Grace, Eric's biography of William Wilberforce — the Member of Parliament who led the fight for Abolition in the British Empire — will be published next spring to commemorate the bicentennial of that event.
He is also the founder and host of Socrates in the City: Conversations on the Examined Life, a monthly event of "entertaining and thought-provoking discussions on 'life, God, and other small topics.'"
