Since moving to the United States in 1995, Eri Yamamoto has established herself as one of jazz's most original and compelling pianists and composers. The Eri Yamamoto Trio, featuring bassist Dave Ambrosio and drummer Ikuo Takeuchi, has developed a unique sound and repertoire, and has built a strong following in New York and abroad. Eri Yamamoto began playing classical piano at age three in her home of Kyoto, Japan. She has lived and performed in New York City since 1996, graduating in 1999 from The New School of Jazz & Contemporary Music. Her performances include off kilter takes on standards and originals.
