El Paso Community College (EPCC) will hold its annual 9/11Remembrance from 7:45am – noon, Friday, September 9 at the Flags Across America Memorial, Diana & Gateway North (just south of EPCC Transmountain campus).
This event holds special meaning because of it being the tenth anniversary of this tragic event. On the grounds will be over 3,000 flags representing those who lost their lives. On the program will be addresses by Major General Dana Pittard, Mayor John Cook, EPCC Interim President Dr. Ernst Roberts, Former POW Shoshana Johnson and others. There will be presentation of colors by all five military branches. A 21-gun salute and moment of silence will mark the times on 9/11 of the airplane strikes on September 11, 2001. The event will finish with a “Freedom Walk” that will end at the EPCC Transmountain campus.
