An exhibition of 30 beautiful historically significant maps documenting the ways in which early European cartographers presented and understood the New World will call the Chrysler Museum "home" over the summer months. Through infrequently seen and sometimes unique maps drawn from a private Virginia collection, the exhibition will show how maps provide a visual record of the changing answers to the question, "What is Virginia?" The exhibition is scheduled to coincide not just with the 400th anniversary of the 1607 Jamestown landing, but with Norfolk's Azalea Festival, which this year honors Great Britain.
