Artworks in 'Envisioning America' convey multiple artists' perspectives on how they idealized America. Early art pieces reflected and perpetuated the Western values, democracy, classical order and Christianity. However, after World War I when America emerged as a new world power, the artwork changes to express America as one of the most powerful nations.
