At the beginning of every semester, graduating seniors of the photography department at Sacramento State University are given envelopes. This is a tradition that began five semesters ago and continues to produce new and creative images. In these envelopes lie an object or idea put forth by the students who graduated the semester before.

Delving into the recesses of the envelope and their own creativity, each student had to explore the remnants left by the previous semester’s students and transform it into a vision of their own. Throughout the process they found themselves performing an Envelope Autopsy.

Images from 40 graduating photography majors will be on display from March 27 through April 21. Call gallery for hours.
