One of the most popular requests I get from our Vancouver Entrepreneur Meetup members is the need to bring in someone who can decipher and make sense of the buzz words on the social web. This month, you can ask all the big social media questions for your business. How does one decide which social media venue to invest in for your customer base, goals and company? What is group buying? Location-based marketing, what is that? Blogging when I am not tech savvy? So I'm online but my following is not growing... what am I doing wrong? How do I optimize my social media pages?
We are VERY fortunate to have Yu-kai Chou who will be joining us. Yu-kai is a Serial Entrepreneur and Social Media Advisor with over 5 years of adventures in the high tech startup world. He is the Founder and CEO of Viralogy Inc, a Social Personalization and Analytics Platform for eCommerce sites. Yu-kai's team has also run many successful social media campaigns for LG, Levi's, Los Angeles Lakers, Activision and more.
Previous to that, he was the founder of FDCareer, a site rated on Mashable as one of the Top 10 Social Networks for Gen-Ys. Recently, Yu-kai is launching RewardMe, a mobile technology that helps restaurants get more repeat customers and referrals.
Yu-kai was selected as one of the 50 Young Leaders of California to attend the Arnold Schwarzenegger's Global Climate Summit and he is a frequently invited speaker at companies and conferences such as Google, Stanford, Internet Marketing Conference, Draper Richards Retreat, and private VC Groups in Silicon Valley. He is also a board advisor for the Israel innovation firm Merkava Ventures and the California Student Sustainability Coalition. Yu-kai received his BA from UCLA.
His company has been covered in Bizjournals, This Week in Startups, Venture Dig, Killer Startups, Vator.tv, Thrilling Heroics and The Skool of Life.
