Jewish Food from India and Tunisia? Learn and Taste at the Osher Marin JCC. Tina Wasserman, nationally known food columnist for Reform Judaism magazine and the author of Entree to Judaism - A Culinary Exploration of the Jewish Diaspora will give a presentation at a brunch on Sunday, October 17, 2011 at 11am at the Osher Marin JCC, 200 North San Pedro Avenue, San Rafael. Copies of Tina's book will be available for sale at a discount and she will autograph copies. According to Tina, "The vast migration of Eastern European Jews to North America influenced our view of what constituted 'Jewish Food'. However, Jews established homes in every country in the world and their redolent cuisine was vibrant. Today, many countries, especially in the Middle East and Asia that once were home to thriving Jewish communities no longer have Jewish residents. It is very important to keep the culinary heritage of the Jewish people alive to connect us to our past so we can create traditions for future generations." Entree to Judaism - A Culinary Exploration of the Jewish Diaspora includes over 275 recipes and dozens of full-color photos. It features "Tina's Tidbits", fun facts and great cooking tips for every recipe.
Tina Wasserman is an award winning cooking instructor, specializing in kosher cuisine.
