If you enjoy movies and mysteries, be sure to save these dates for a great new program at ETS. On Thursday evening, November 24, we will feature one of the popular ?Murdoch Mysteries? films.
Fans of writer Maureen Jennings already know her excellent series set in 1890s Toronto, in the area of the Schoolhouse. Perhaps you heard her speak last winter here at ETS.
Publishers Weekly wrote about Poor Tom Is Cold: ?Jennings has laid a strong claim to the Toronto of the late nineteenth century?and she cements her hold with this deft combination of mystery and social issues?a satisfying mystery perfectly wedded to its evocative setting.?
The films are also very evocative of the Toronto of that period and, with a fine cast, bring Detective William Murdoch and his city to life. Director Michael DeCarlo was nominated for a Directors Guild Award for the Murdoch Mysteries.
Maureen Jennings will speak briefly before each showing and we hope to have several of the actors and production people here as well.
So join us on Thursday, November 24 for Poor Tom Is Cold.
There will be light refreshments between 7:00 and 7:30 pm, with the program beginning at 7:30.
Admission is $10.00 or $8.00 for ETS members. Pre-registration is requested. Tickets will be available at the door.
